Commerce City, the Bee Capitol of America, is located in Adams County. The town was incorporated in 1962 but has roots back to the mid-1800s.

A northern suburb of Denver, Commerce City is a diverse community with a large variety of amenities. The Rocky Mountain National Wildlife Refuge is located here as is a large oil refinery, which provides thousands of jobs. Large entertainment facilities, including the Adams County Regional Park and Fairgrounds, Mile High Greyhound Park, a dog track, and the Dicks Sporting Goods Park, home to the Colorado Rapids Major League Soccer team, entertain residents and visitors alike.
