Gunnison is nestled in a southwest Colorado valley at 7,703 feet, thirty miles west of the Continental Divide. Established in 1853, it is still home to ranchers and cowboys who make their living off cattle and the land.
Attractions:
Gunnison is surrounded by much natural beauty including the stunning Black Canyon of the Gunnison, Curecanti National Recreation Area, Taylor River Canyon, Blue Mesa Reservoir and several scenic byways that include four mountains over 14,000 feet. Cross country skiing, snowmobiling, ice skating and ice fishing are popular in the winter, and in the summer, concerts, art shows, rodeos, and theater performances abound.
Real Estate:
Gunnison offers a wide variety of single family homes ranging anywhere from small cabins to large estates. You can also find a great selection of vacant land to build your dream home in Southwest Colorado. Condominiums are available though there are very few in this area.
