San Luis, Colorado

Founded in 1851, San Luis is the oldest town in Colorado and one of the smallest at .54 square miles. Located in the south central part of the State and 18 miles north of the New Mexico border, it is populated primarily by the Hispanic families who originally settled there.

A Christmastime posada is held annually, celebrating the journey of Mary and Joseph. The Great Sand Dunes National Park is a short one hour drive North.
