Delta has an approximate population of 9,000 and is located 50 miles South of Grand Junction and 20 miles North of Montrose just at the junction of Highways 50 & 92. Originally built as the trading post for early settlers and the Ute Tribe, Delta derives its name from its location on the delta, where the Gunnison River and the Uncompahgre River interest.
