Known for its resort feel, this town received its name by being the entrance to Colorado from bordering Utah, hence Gateway.

Gateway Canyons Resort is a great place for horseback riding, mountain biking, hiking, climbing, fishing and rafting. Enjoy a scenic drive through the Unaweep/Tabeguache Scenic and History Byway that winds through the Unaweep Canyon.
